Project
Goals:
The client, artist Francine Miller,
specialized in hand-painted glassware and had
developed a loyal clientele in Chicago's small
boutiques. To expand her business, Francine
knew that she needed to change her current "craft"
image into one that evoked her product's fine
art image.
Project
Challenges:
The client's goal to expand her
company was dependent upon a successful debut
at the annual Chicago Merchandise Mart's Giftware
Show. The challenge was to develop a new identity
and sales campaign in time for the show which
was only a couple of months away.
Project
Results:
Tandem Design began the identity
campaign by renaming the company "Wine & Dine
Them." The new name encompasses a whimsical
sense of style that lends itself to an understated
sophistication that was more appropriate for
the client's new target audience of upscale
retail giftware buyers. Next, a logo was created
to express the client's creativity by incorporating
her love of Chicago's urban environment and
the sleek lines of her most popular pieces:
willowy embellished stemware and vases.
Continuing
the identity campaign, Tandem Design used elements
from the new logo and the client's professional
photos to create a sales campaign including
business cards, stationery, product sell sheets
and trade show graphics.
The
client's investment in changing her company's
identity to reach an expanded national market
paid off. Wine & Dine Them's debut at the Giftware
Show was a financial success.
